Shell and door inspection
Check that the doors open and close freely, locking bars seat fully and seals are continuous. The shell should have no light leaks, active signs of water ingress or deformation affecting cargo safety.
Floor and cleanliness
The floor should be dry, clean, odour-free and capable of supporting the cargo. Nails, sharp objects and residue from previous cargo can damage both packaging and product safety.
Weight and distribution
Total cargo weight must remain within capacity, and heavy items should be distributed evenly across the floor. Cargo concentrated on one side can create instability during transport and handling.
Securing and void management
Forward, backward, sideways and upward movement is restrained with suitable blocks, straps, dunnage bags or barriers. The chosen method must not damage the packaging or loosen during transport.
Documents and markings
The container number, seal, cargo list and transport documents must show matching records. Relevant marking and declaration procedures are handled separately for dangerous or special goods.
